Melbourne Beach Mobile Park

Melbourne Beach, FL

One of our favorite spots right on the beach.  However, they are a 55+ park and don’t take reservations.  So, you have to take a chance that they have an opening.  Not always convenient, but since it’s so close to our house we can easily go elsewhere if they are full.  When we were here in May, we were sitting on the beach at about 9PM watching the full moon when we saw a sea turtle venture out of the ocean to lay her eggs.  We were able to watch her dig the hole, lay her eggs, and cover it up before she set off back to the ocean.  In the morning, we woke to discover new turtle nests all up and down the beach (about every 100 feet).  The following week, I happened to meet someone from the Sea Turtle Preservation Society of Indian River County.  She said that Melbourne Beach (Brevard County) is the most prolific sea turtle nesting site in North America!

  • POPULATION:  We’ve been here at the beginning and end of summer.  It appeared as though most of the residents are not here in the summer.  So, there was not an over abundance of people.  Friendly owners, family run.
  • CLEANLINESS:  Did not use bathhouse.
  • SITES:  The sites we stayed in are literally right up against the dune separating you from the beach.  The sites could use more maintenance.  But this is a gem of a place, so you don’t mind it at all.
  • AMENITIES:  A nice wide beach and the ocean!  Shower/foot wash as you come back from beach.  Great location.  Grocery store only a mile or so away, as is downtown Melbourne Beach.  Gas station almost across the street.
