Why Run Away?

About

After 32 years of marriage and raising 4 great kids, we found ourselves caught on a treadmill. Not the one that helps you lose weight, but the one that keeps you doing the same things - day after day. We go to work, come home, make dinner, sit on the sofa and watch TV, go to bed, then do it all over again the next day. Weekends were spent doing laundry and other chores, with a little bit of fun thrown in. Around Christmas last year, we passed an RV dealership and I asked my husband to stop in - just for kicks. We instantly became intrigued. Over the next week we did some research on campers and by the following weekend, we found ourselves signing on the dotted line. What were we thinking?!?!?! We have had so much fun since that day, I couldn't help but share some info we've learned along the way. I think my family and friends are getting sick of hearing me talk about camping, so I thought I'd find a new audience. :) If you have some info to share, I'd love to hear it! Now, let's run away camping! Carol & Tony

Okay, technically, I drove the truck that was pulling the trailer. But, this was my first time and it was exhilarating! (Don’t I look serious?)  Hubby injured his ankle and wasn’t able to drive. So, it was either we stay home or I drive and, of course, I wasn’t staying home. So, I drove from […]

Camping in a Hurricane?

We live along the intracoastal waterway in Florida and Hurricane Matthew had just torn up the Bahamas! Our first instincts were to secure the house and get the heck out of there.  Of course, we couldn’t leave our precious camper in the path of this monster.  Since our little hotel on wheels could take us […]
