KOA – St. Augustine Beach

KOA – St Augustine Beach – St. Augustine, FL

This being our first “KOA” experience, we were not sure what to expect.  I think staying at a KOA is a lot like staying at a Best Western.  It’s pretty much the same everywhere and a good basic standard.  The sites were small and close together, but well equipped.  We had a view of a pretty little lake (pond), complete with visiting ducks each morning.  The big upside to this park is that a trolley came right through the campground to take guests across the bridge to the downtown area, where you can take another trolley around town.  So, no need to unhook to go sight-seeing.

  • POPULATION:  Moderately occupied in spring.
  • CLEANLINESS:  Clean bathhouse, sites, and grounds.
  • SITES:  No privacy at all between sites, about 1 tree per site providing very little shade.  Our site was so small it was hard to fit our truck at the site with the camper. Full hook-ups.
  • AMENITIES:  Small general store, pretty little lake with ducks, trolley comes through park to take you to downtown.
