I LOVE my new Lodge cast iron pan! Up until now, I had “sworn” by cooking in foil over a fire. But no more! I had gotten tired of food cooking unevenly, leaking foil packs, and the steaming mess when we had to open those foil packs that I tried so hard to seal shut! With my new lidded skillet, I can cook over the fire and even stir the ingredients from time to time. Plus, there is no leakage and the lid sits nice and snugly on top of the skillet. I got the 3 qt, so it’s perfect for the 2 of us. But they make several different sizes. Below are pictures of our Shrimp Boil, or what’s left of it! (No time to take photos when food is this good!!!)
And cast iron is easy clean up: I just wipe out the food and give it a good rinse in hot water. Then wipe dry with paper towels and add a dab of canola oil with a clean paper towel, and it’s ready for the next meal! I don’t generally get excited over pots and pans, but this has made cooking over the fire so much easier and with more consistent results. I purchased this one on Amazon. Lodge Cast Iron Pan
